What we offer

The support we offer includes:

  • What we will be offering this year:

    • An Early Reading Audit.

    • Regular information and guidance on phonics and early reading.

    • Support for schools to create an action plan to strengthen phonics, early reading, and language development, while fostering a love of reading.

    • CPD events to share the latest updates, practical strategies, and best practice.

    • MLS (Medium-Level Support) programmes providing tailored, ongoing guidance for schools.

    • Access to funding for training, phonics resources, and decodable books from a validated SSP programme.

    • Training delivered by experts to support teachers and schools in improving phonics provision, early language, and a culture of reading for pleasure.

    • Up to six days of intensive in-school support from our Hub Literacy Specialists (for schools selected as a partner school).

Areas we cover

We offer support to schools in the following Local Authority areas:

  • Cheshire East

  • Stockport

  • Tameside

  • Salford

  • Trafford

  • St Helens

  • Oldham

  • Bury

If your school is not in any of the areas above but you would like to receive support from the English Hub then get in touch and we may be able to offer you support, or direct you to your allocated English Hub.

Funding

We may be able to offer funding to you to purchase phonics resources, decodable books and training aligned with your SSP, subject to the results of your Early Reading audit.
