About this event
This two-day professional development course is designed for Senior Leaders, Oracy Leads, Curriculum Leads, and English Leads who want to embed purposeful talk and oracy strategies across their school curriculum.
This training will be delivered by Charles Hewitt, Headteacher at Fender Primary School and founder of Oracy North West, with experience of gaining accreditation as a Voice 21 Centre of Excellence for Oracy.
What you’ll gain:
Practical tools to strengthen pupils’ speaking, listening, and reasoning.
Approaches for integrating oracy into subject teaching and curriculum design.
Strategies for supporting diverse learners, including EAL, SEND, and disadvantaged pupils.
Guidance on building a whole-school culture of oracy.
Course Dates:
Day 1:15 January 2026 – Exploring language for learning & curriculum integration
Day 2:21 April 2026 – Developing oracy-rich classrooms, inclusive practice & building a culture of talk
Attendance on both days is a requirement when registering for this course. Please ensure you register for both days when signing up, as priority for spaces will be given to those who have registered for both dates.
