Reading Ambition For All
Teaching Children who need the most support, including those with SEND
This programme will enable participants to become familiar with the principles for how to teach all children to read and how to use this guidance and resources from their own SSP programme.
Let’s get all children reading!
The Reading Ambition for All programme has been developed by drawing on expert advice from disability charities, leading academics, the EEF, validated SSPs, school leaders, practitioners, Ofsted, the reading framework, the SEND code of practice and wide evidence base.
Programme Aims:
to improve outcomes for children who need additional support with reading, including those with SEND
to ensure that all children receive quality-first teaching based on the latest research into how children learn to read
Who should attend
The course is primarily aimed at Reading Leaders, SENDCos and senior leaders who can implement best practice regarding phonics and early reading. We are limiting this course to 1 person per school but there will be opportunities built in, to bring along relevant colleagues. Maximum of 1 person per school
The English Hub programme is offering a six-session course designed to strengthen teachers’ and leaders’ knowledge and practice in supporting pupils with SEND in mainstream settings. Each module focuses on a different aspect of inclusive teaching: from understanding children’s needs and embracing neurodiversity, to making effective adaptations in the classroom, leading reading with high expectations, and providing targeted support for pupils with more complex SEND.
